I wish government and other industries would learn from this. Steve jobs famously said (must watch interview by the way) that a 2x better bus driver doesn’t get you there 2x faster. That’s not true in some fields, like his, where a 25x software programmer (they really exist) could equal billions more in revenue.

And lack of regulation translates to any means necessary. book review, part 1: Great, must read book if you work in an environment that requires both creativity and management to get something done (or create something new). One of my favorite messages from the book: “Give a good idea to a mediocre team, and they will screw it up. Give a mediocre idea to a great team, and they will either fix it or come up with something better. If you get the team right, chances are that they’ll get the ideas right.”

A running compilation of all the un-embargoed pre-release Apple Watch reviews. No syncing of podcasts? Sounds like the software is slow and needs work. Hopefully the hardware has some room to grow. The next version needs GPS and an emergency call option self-contained (or better, the ability to make calls over an old or low-data rate network). Anyone else think those videos of Christy Turlington Burns out running with the Apple Watch AND an iPhone 6 strapped to her arm are not exactly a positive example of the watch in action?

I look at other people’s watches to tell the time (often sneakily). Apple Watch is going to screw that up.
I’ve seen Product Hunt pushed over and over on the startup tech sites recently. How much of the success of silicon valley is just because it’s a club?
